When ordering specials, its always best to supply a CAD drawing of the tool if available. If not most custom tool houses can work from your sectional part drawing to develop a tool print.
When possible, always provide the tool maker with the specifics about the
job your running. i.e.. material to be machined, number of pcs to be completed,
your finish requirements, and any possible High Performance Coatings that may be required.
You should add at least 7 to 10 days to your expected delivery if your vendor has to have the tool coated.
Also be sure to research the coatings you are considering using.
